Switzerland, 24–30 October 2025
At the invitation of the Tibetan Community in Switzerland and Liechtenstein (TCSL), His Eminence Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche arrived in Switzerland on 24 October 2025 for a week-long series of spiritual teachings, empowerments, prayer services, and community engagements that deeply benefited the Tibetan community and the wider public.
Longevity Empowerment and Teachings in Zurich
On 25 October 2025, His Eminence graciously bestowed the Longevity Empowerment according to the tradition of the Sole Mother, Queen of Siddhas, followed by an insightful discourse on the principal commitments of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Rinpoche further blessed the gathering with an introduction to Buddhism and general spiritual guidance, offering practical advice for cultivating wisdom and compassion in daily life.
The event was attended by the Abbot and monks of the Monastic Tibet Institute, Rikon, the Mayor of Oetwil am See in the Canton of Zurich, Mr. Namgyal Gangshontsang, as well as the President, Vice President, and committee members of TCSL. Also present were former members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, leaders of regional associations from the three Tibetan provinces, representatives of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC), Tibetan Women’s Association (TWA), Students for a Free Tibet (SFT), and a large gathering of Tibetan devotees.
Teachings for the Tibetan Community of Basel
At the request of the Tibetan Community of Basel, His Eminence conferred the Longevity Empowerment of the Wish-Fulfilling Wheel White Tara on 26 October 2025, followed by a teaching on Buddhism based on the Four Noble Truths.
The program was attended by the Abbot and monks of Rikon Monastery, the President and executive members of TCSL, the President and Vice President of the Basel Tibetan Community, and TGSL Basel, along with leaders of various Tibetan organizations, members of the public, and numerous devotees.
Later, His Eminence delivered an inspiring and extensive address emphasizing the vital importance of unity among Tibetans, while reaffirming the compassionate guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the collective responsibility of the community to uphold ethical conduct, harmony, and mutual respect.
Long Life Prayer and Daily Buddhist Practice
On 27 October 2025, at the joint request of the Abbot and monks of Rikon Choekhor Monastery and devoted followers, His Eminence presided over a Long Life Prayer Service for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Following the prayer service, Rinpoche gave a practical teaching on how to integrate Buddhist practice into everyday life, emphasizing mindfulness, compassion, and ethical living.
Teaching on Chöd at Gaden Chokhor Ling
On 28 October 2025, at the request of Serje Tehor Lodroe Choekyi Gyaltsen Rinpoche, an accomplished yogi of the profound Chöd (གཅོད་) tradition, His Eminence delivered a profound teaching on the importance and interrelationship of Compassion and Emptiness (Śūnyatā) within the Chöd practice of the Machig Labdrön lineage. The teaching was held at Gaden Chokhor Ling Buddhist Study Centre, attended by Lodroe Rinpoche himself, along with the centre’s members and students.
Teaching at FPMT Center Bern and Meeting with Swiss Parliamentarian
As requested, His Eminence gave a teaching on the Four Noble Truths and addressed the gathered devotees at Longku FPMT Center Bern – Center for Tibetan-Buddhist Studies and Meditation, founded by the late Lama Zopa Rinpoche, on 29 October 2025.
On the same day, His Eminence Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche, together with the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration in Switzerland, and leaders of TCSL, TYC, and TWA, held a fruitful meeting with Ms. Laurence Fehlmann Rielle, Member of the National Council of Switzerland.
During the meeting, His Eminence expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Fehlmann Rielle for her longstanding and consistent support for the Tibetan cause and the welfare of Tibetans in Switzerland. Rinpoche also requested her continued solidarity in the years ahead, to which she warmly reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the Tibetan community in every possible way.
Engagement with Tibetan Youth in Zurich
Concluding his visit, on 30 October 2025, at the joint request of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Student Network Tibet, His Eminence delivered a teaching on Introduction to Buddhism, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session at the University of Zurich. The program was attended by the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration in Switzerland, the President and Vice President of TCSL, and Tibetan youth as the primary participants.
His Eminence Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche’s visit proved to be deeply meaningful, strengthening spiritual practice, reinforcing unity within the Tibetan community, and renewing commitment to the compassionate vision and guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
