His Eminence Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche Visits California for Dharma Teachings and Public Engagements

At the invitation of the Tibetan Association of Northern California, His Eminence Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche graciously arrived in California on 29th July 2025, dedicating several days to the service of Dharma and the public. During this spiritual sojourn, Rinpoche engaged in a series of profound teachings, rituals, consecrations, and public addresses, inspiring numerous attendees and local leaders alike.

On 31st July, Rinpoche held meaningful discussions with several community leaders, fostering dialogue and connection.

On 1st August, in the afternoon, His Eminence delivered a teaching on how to practice and conduct oneself within the cycle of day and night. This was followed by a protective ritual (བཀའ་བསྒོ།) and a purifying ritual for obscurations and impurities (བྱབས་ཁྲུས་). An audience of Mongolian devotees, led by Telo Rinpoche, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Russia, attended the event, expressing deep reverence for Rinpoche’s presence.

On 2nd August, Rinpoche offered a public teaching on the Three Noble Paths in the morning. In the afternoon, he granted the initiation of the Four-Armed Avalokiteshvara, followed by teachings and the oral transmission of the Avalokiteshvara Guru Yoga.

The morning of 3rd August was marked by the Long-life Empowerment of White Tara, after which His Eminence delivered an in-depth speech emphasizing the importance of ethical conduct and moral values as guiding principles, in alignment with the vision of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Rinpoche also visited the Gyuto Vajrayana Centre, where he consecrated the centre and joyfully participated in a special communal meal.

In the afternoon of the same day, at the request of Land of Medicine Buddha, a retreat center in Santa Cruz guided by the late Lama Zopa Rinpoche, His Eminence gave a teaching on the Eight Verses of Mind Training and bestowed the oral transmission of the Heart Sutra. He also consecrated the newly constructed stupa at the center, adding profound spiritual significance to the site.

On 4th August, at the request of the Sera Jey Foundation, His Eminence granted the initiation of the Secret Sadhana of the Meditation Deity Hayagriva, followed by a public address at the foundation’s centre,inspiring attendees with deep teachings and compassionate guidance.

His Eminence Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche’s visit left a lasting impression on all participants, strengthening the practice of Dharma and fostering unity, compassion, and spiritual dedication within the Californian Tibetan and Buddhist communities.
