Four Days of Dharma and Prayer: H.E. Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche Presides Over North America Chötrul Monlam Chenmo
New York, 28 February–3 March 2026 — Continuing his visit to New York, His Eminence Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche presided over the Fourth North America Chötrul Monlam Chenmo, held for four days from 28 February to 3 March 2026 at Phuntsok Deshi Tibetan Community Hall.
Throughout the Monlam, His Eminence gave teachings on the Jataka Tales each morning. The afternoon sessions included the conferral of the Jenang (permission blessing) of Sitatapatra (White Umbrella Deity), the Long-Life Empowerment of Amitayus, and a public teaching on the Heart Sutra.
On 2 March, His Eminence presided over the memorial prayer service (Gongdzok) for the late Ngari Rinpoche, with prayers offered in his remembrance.
On 3 March, the final day of the Monlam, the ceremonial enthronement invitation of the Fifth Guide, Lord Maitreya, was conducted as part of the concluding religious programme.
At the conclusion of the four-day Monlam, His Eminence offered prayers dedicating the merits accumulated through the religious activities for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the precious protector and refuge of Tibetans in this and future lives, and for the longevity of all great upholders of the Dharma.
His Eminence further dedicated prayers for the flourishing and spread of the Buddha’s teachings, for the swift resolution of the Tibetan cause and the restoration of justice, and for the reunion of Tibetans living both inside and outside Tibet.
The four-day Monlam concluded in an atmosphere of profound devotion and collective aspiration, bringing together the Tibetan and Buddhist communities in prayer for the flourishing of the Dharma, the well-being of the Tibetan people, and the benefit of all sentient beings.
